NADER BADAWI, PLACEMENT DIRECTOR

BOYS AND GIRLS U15-U19 TEAMS


Coach Nader Badawi was born in Sudan and raised in Kuwait, where he developed a
passion for soccer. After relocating to Fresno, California, Nader played Division I soccer
at Fresno State and later pursued a semi-professional soccer career. Following his
playing days, he transitioned into officiating, where he became a distinguished soccer
official, refereeing at state, national, and professional levels. 
 
Nader’s expertise extends to coaching and officiating. He served as a CYSA/USSF
coaching instructor, providing him with a deep and holistic understanding of the game.
His extensive coaching experience includes working with local leagues, Olympic
Development Programs (ODP), and U.S. Soccer Development Academies and currently
holds USSF National A license. Over the years, Nader has coached at three prominent
clubs in Fresno: Bullard United, Central Valley Soccer Academy (CVSA), California
Odyssey SC as a US Soccer Development Academy Technical Director. and ten years
in San Diego Nomads SC as the Assistant technical director of the US soccer
development academy and MLSNEXT Development program. Under his leadership, his
teams have secured numerous league championships and two National Championships
in the U.S. Club Soccer and USL Super Y League. At the high school level, he coached
both J.V. and varsity boys’ teams at Bullard High School and led Madera Ranchos High
School's varsity girls’ team to its first Central Section Championship. 
 
In addition to his coaching credentials, Nader has attended a USSF coaching workshop
in Spain, further enhancing his knowledge and approach to the game. His dedication to
soccer and his players has earned him widespread respect within the soccer
community. 
 
Nader is married to Carol Badawi, a retired educator and school principal who dedicated
35 years to the Fresno Unified School District. They have two children: Azarri, who
played college volleyball at Tulane University, and Malik, who played college soccer at
Fort Lewis College and is currently a professional referee in Major League Soccer
(MLS).
